Sky Q restart issue

I’ve recently switched to Sky Q and have a strange issue that someone may be able to advise on.

Every few hours and particularly when light switches in the house are flicked on, the sky q box switches off for a couple of seconds and then commences again.

I didn’t have any such issues with my SkyHD box.

Any suggestions please?

Shoddy installation. In particular poorly fitted F plugs, or poor quality coax cable. Start by checking the f plugs are tight on the box. Assuming it was fitted by a sky installer it is up to sky to sort it under warranty.
 
I’ve called Sky but they’ve said that they will charge me if it transpires that it is not “their fault”.

I just found the link with switching lights in the house on and off very unusual. I’m intrigued how you’ve immediately suggested the F plugs. Would that cause such a behaviour?

I have seen certain kind of lights interfere with boxes in the past. From memory I think it was the old style energy saver bulbs, also it was when there was lots of reflective things near the TV like pictures frames etc.

is it likely to be an earthing issue with the connectors?
All my lights are integral LED's

Poorly fitted F plugs or poor quality cable will let in RF interference. When lights are switched on/off the spark at the switch generates RF interference.

Sky are trying it on (again). They installed it, and it is not working. Tell them you will cancel if they don't or can't fix it free of charge. Goods or services sold have to be fit for purpose. That is the law.
 
Right guys, I’ve had Sky back in again. They changed the RF connectors at the box and dish: problems persists.

They then replaced the box. I still get the same issue...

I have noticed that the box never switches off during this brief interruption. The green power light remains lit on the box. It’s as if it loses the signal momentarily and then recommences.

I never had this issue with the SkyHD box which I had been running without any issues for 3-4 years.

Sky are at a loss and happy to downgrade me back to SkyHD again :(
I’m unsure on where to go next and would appreciate your thoughts.
 
I have a similar problem my Sky Box will not receive a signal, its possible that a Tree/Leaves/Branches is affecting it in the Garden,
 
But what’s the relationship with switches being flicked in the house and also, I never had this issue with the HD box...
