You will need an adaptor and plug that in to an ordinary computer. If your Ipad has bluetooth you can transfer files via a bluetooth link as well providing that whatever you are transferring to has bluetooth as well. According to thos pictures one of them shows an Ipad connected to a USB stick. If I do that on a normal computer I would be able to see the Usb drive and transfer directly. I have no idea whether that works on Apple stuff though.
You can make the physical connection with a 30-pin to USB female cable, but Apple's operating system for the iPad won't recognise a USB flash drive when it's plugged in directly. I think you're going to need something like iTunes on a PC, and then link the iPad to the PC via the USB connection. Make sure both the iPad's version and the Windows version of iTunes are updated to the latest edition.
Once you have the files over in to a Windows environment, then you'll have a much easier time.
If this or any other reply was helpful to you, then do the decent thing and click the T-H-A-N-K-S button. It appears when you hover the mouse pointer near the Quote Multi-quote buttons. This is the proper way to show your thanks for the time and help someone gave you.
The main problem with ipads is that Apple decided to hide the file structure from users. They figured it would confuse people. IIRC they will finally introduce it in the latest iPad operating system but older ipads won't get that update.
Do not waste another £30 on the 30 pin connector to (female) USB connector- as far as I know it will only allow you to transfer images. The charger lead that you have has a male USB connection where it plugs in to the wall charger. Use that to connect it to a PC. If you don't have a PC and don't want to buy one, or don't have access to one, you could pay the guy in the local phone shop to do it for you.
How did you get the music on to the ipad in the first place? Did you buy it via the iTunes store?
I just plug in a usb stick and use app iUSB to transfer any files direct . There are also several programs that allow direct access to iPhone/iPad files.
