Hi everyone,

I’ve recently had a whirlpool bath and the pump has come pre flexed with a plug top.
I’m not happy having a socket under the bath, seems a bit rash for my liking.
I was thinking of putting a switch fuse outside the bathroom and running a new flex in the stud wall, under the floor and back to the pump.
And just wanted to double check before doing anything that this was a suitable method?

Thanks

Yes, that's ok. I would say - if you replace the flex rather than have a joint which would be no differnt than having a plug.

There is nothing wrong with having a plug under the bath. After all, you have a pump.

Very true @EFLImpudence I know many class under an enclosed bath as outside the zone but after looking into it further, there still seems to be a lot of grey area surrounding it. But as you said, the pump is located under the bath, sooo...(n)
Yes @Taylortwocities it does state it should be RCD protected. The flex from the pump runs into a PRCD, with a plug on the other end.
The ring circuit I would be extending or spurring from is also protected.

If you really wanted to you could place an MK Masterseal single socket under the bath if you were that worried about damp or Water.
