Bosch dishwasher fog horn noise

I've recently had to take my Bosch dishwasher apart to replace the heater element assembly. This involved disconnecting and refitting the sump assembly, circulation motor, drain pump, some internal piping etc.

The dishwasher now works fine however every now and then it makes a moan similar to the sound of a fog horn. I've uploaded a recording here: https://instaud.io/3PZC

Any ideas what could be causing this?

How old is the machine?

Does the noise happen when the dishwasher is under load e.g draining or pumping?

The machine is abour 10 years old.

Yes, the sound comes when it is circulating water but not immediately when it starts circulating. You can heat water circulating both before, during and after the noise.

I can't hear anything in your recording, but not having isolator valves or stop taps fully open can cause some strange noises due to water flow.

Maybe when refitting the pump and motor some damage occurred to one or the other, or the circuit connections.
