Hi all, A couple of weeks ago I managed to smash to smithereens the transparent plastic access door/cover on my sector consumer unit, that's at the top of my stairs. I need to get a new door/cover to replace it.

I know all C/U's now are metal, but I was wondering if anyone has an old one, or knows of somewhere I could buy an obsolete SECTOR C/U just for the door? I guess it doesn't have to be SECTOR just as long as it fits...Obviously I'll be happy to buy the entire thing although I only need a part of it.

many thanks for reading...

If you have an address for Sector or a stockist you should be able to buy a plastic Equipment Enclosure that could be identical to one of the consumer units that cannot now be sold.

Sector was /is the in house brand of Rexel Senate, made by BG I believe, might be worth trying a branch, they might have one covered in dust on a shelf somewhere

Thanks Bernard. It seems SECTOR no longer exists, taken over by a co called Rexel by the look of it. I put plastic Equipment Enclosure into their search bar but nothing came up. many thanks for responding.

How so?

Non-domestic installations are precluded from the Regulation (although domestic equipment in a non-domestic installation is frankly pants). Even in a domestic installation they can be installed if fitted within a cabinet made from non-combustible material.

Send a picture of what you have. It's possible the Sector board is something 'rebadged' - so a similar product with a different manufacturers name may be out there somewhere.

The Sector boards that I've encountered have all had re-badged Wylex NSB series MCBs in them. However, this does not guarantee... a) That the exterior panels are identical to Wylex, or b) That all Sector branded boards were always Wylex.

....and yes, Sector was Rexel Senate, now WF Senate's own brand
