Hello, I have a range cooker and the fan over no longer heats up, ( the light still works) I have bought a new element but for the life of me I cannot get the old element out. It doesn't have 2 normal screws like on all the tutorials ive watched on YouTube, it has 2 sort of round discs!!
There is no tool I know of that can get these discs out. Can anyone help me please. I have attached two photo's of my current element.

Are you sure that on the other side where the wires connect there are not x2 nuts?

If you look at the new element (Presuming it is the right one) - Do you have screw holes or x2 bolts pressed into the mounting point?

Hi, I don't know whats on the other side. Here is a photo of my new element.

I reckon that the original element has bee riveted in although the bottom fixing seems to have a thread if you look closely. If they are rivets then you will have to drill the old rivets out and then use nuts and bolts to secure the new element.

The original element is screwed in from the back.

Looking at the bottom fixing you could be right there does seem to be a thread on that one. But the top fixing looks well mangled.

Anyway whatever if the old element is screwed on from the back then you will have to get to the back to undo the screws. If it is riveted then my original post stands.

Cut the bolt/screw ends off flush with a dremel or die grinder, fit new element with screw and nuts.

Looks a swine to get to though.

Please OP, take the back off, find the two philips headed screws and undo them. regardless of whether the new one is threaded the old one is.

As per assuhors.....the things you see on your original pic are the screws....the heads of which are on the other side - and you have to reach them somehow!
John :)

Hi, Thank you all so much for your advice and tips.....it worked. We took the back of and got the element out that way xx
