Hi guys,

I am getting quotes for a new porch extension as detailed here:

4ftx8ft brick and block work.
Slate gable roof connected to drainage.
Black UPVC fascias.
New insulated floor.
Remove existing arch front door and fit lintel.
New composite door with glazed panels either side

No render, plastering or electrics required.

Can anyone give me a rough price for this work.
Trying to get quotes is like pulling teeth.

Two that I have so far have an £1800 difference !!

Thanks all

LOL

Foundations?
Strip or raft?
Thickness of wall, type of brick or block?
Lead or flashband?
Door style?
Window size and profile?
Type of lintel?
Building regualtion fee?
Access for skip and materials?

£2000 cash. :cautious:

According to Both builders spoken to so far

2ft of footings
Red facing brick up approx 4ft
Block above (for rendering after)
No return on cavity walls
1700 wide black composite door with glazed side panels
2 x concrete lintels @ 1800
Slate gable roof
Insulated concrete floor

If it’s subject to building regs, which I assume it is if it’s got insulation, then why is 2 foot of footings ok? Is it on rock or something? Or are they a bit more lenient for a porch?

presumably a pitched roof
how much were the two quotes you mentioned?

Does it have side windows?

I just DIY’d a similar one but got a guy to do the brickwork. I think it cost me about £3500, with the windows and door being £2200 of that. The triangle bit over the door was £500

If you were having someone do it I think Nosealls £6k is about right (y)
