Hi
I bought a box of misc building cable ties. These were in box but I have no idea what they are. Can anyone help - See attached photo. Thanks in advance for your help.

except that the two arms are pointing out, not together.

How big is it?
 
We've got them on our coffee and sugar jars. Nightmare when they come off, it's like a chinese puzzle working how to get them on again.

They are definitely something to do with building. They are 7cm long and when opened out they are 7cm at the base so too big for any jar or a clothes peg.
