Hi
Not sure if this is the right section for this question?

How long after a concrete slab is laid can a heating oil tank be fitted on top of it?

Slab will be 100mm thick, 2.5x2.5. Tank will be a 1200l plastic low profile tank. It won't red filling straight away so will just be the weight of the tank itself.

Cheers

Concrete hardens by a chemical reaction between the cement and the water. Hardening starts fast and gets slower after time. If you can keep it wet (spray with water and/or cover with a plastic sheet) it will reach about 50% strength and hardness in a week. Once it dries out it will stop gaining strength, even if you wet it again.

For the first day or so it is so weak that you can scratch the surface with a thumbnail.
