Hi guys..
I have a plumber doing some work for me at the moment, he's fitting a toilet and sink combined unit.

The toilet isn't plumbed in just yet, but my builder said in his opinion, this doesn't look great and feels its possible not at an angle enough to move waste along and down the soil pipe.

He said he's not a plumber and just his opinion but to though I'd ask on here so far. I'm paying him decent money so would be nice if the jobs correct or going that direction at least

Cheers

Hard to tell from the photos but it looks like the flexible pan connector is running uphill - they're not the great at the best of times but running horizontal or uphill is going to give you problems quite quickly!

That 'T' connection in the downpipe needs to be lower surely? Looks a bit of a lash up to me.

I missed the second photo when I read your post last night!

Branch to Fernco connector to PVC to flexible pan connector and they all look to be falling back to the pan.

As Motman says - a lash-up!

From the photos (only a spirit level will really tell you) the only "fall" on that soil pipe is the "fool" who installed it

You can get away with a short horizontal run but not with a flexi and certainly not with a backfall.

Thanks all

I'm. Useless at DIY or this field but to me it didn't look great.

Worst bit is, he had a spirit level there. Now I Ower him £230 for his work yesterday and materials typically I'm right towards the end of a complete house renovation, money is put and I've had a bad painter and now a dodgy plumber all of which had great reviews

Thanks again all

Have a couple of local plumbers coming out later today

Oh dear, he's not a very good plumber by the looks of it I'm afraid. His ability to look at a proposed installation and set it out properly is non existent IMO.

Firstly the branch should have been cut into the stack lower to provide at least a 45mm drop per m, then using a flexi - nothing inherently wrong with that TBH but - without any fall  and then using a fernco to connect the soil pipes up to get around the slight offset, that's a major problem waiting to happen. The cabinet should also be opened up properly to suit the pipe run or toilet relocated.

I'd be binning him TBH.

I have had 2 plumbers come our and look at it now, both said the job isn't good as you guys would likely expect.

One said he'd rip it all out and start again, another said it shouldn't be a massive problem if he can get a decent fall on it all.

Another issue, the original plumber apparently had measure his tails for the shower pipes he did, He reckons he needs different shrowds, one plumber that looking at this job, says he's not convinced hell be able to sort different shrowds and get to fit and if that's the case the new splashboard, quadrant doors etc I've had fitted will need to come off and the pipes sorted

Could do without all this right now I won't lie
