I discovered slugs were crawling onto my carpet from a part of the brickwork that hadn't been sealed properly on my patio door, so I re-sealed it and solved that problem but that has created another problem. Something about the seal attracts the sparrows and they keep pecking at it because I can see bits of sealant on the patio floor. What can I do to stop the birds pecking?

Put a sign up 'cctv in operation' should do it, stopped me from pecking when I used to go round the shops in town
