Hi,

I need to connect two lights connected to the same power source. When you turn on the switch then both lights will turn on. I understand that the 3 terminal block would be very useful but not sure how to wire them. Any idea?

Thanks

PS. I am not an electrician just a DIY enthu.

Do you already have one working light and wish to add a second to the same circuit?

If you want to install this from scratch, (i.e. you don't have any lights in position at the moment but want to install two instead of just one), then the diagrams in the link are not suitable as they do not show the switch wiring. It would be best if you could give as much information as possible in order to get a correct reply.

Thanks,

So currently there is a LED light (in the porch). I am planning to add one more LED light (Not downlight).

Switch -----------> Existing LED light

Proposed:

Switch -----------> Existing LED light + New LED light

Both lights will be controlled via same switch.

Does that help?

Thanks

If you are joining cables, the joint must be in an enclosure. Enclosure should provide a clamp so the cables don’t pull out. (Or the cables can be clipped to joists, etc)

Something like this would do you

In that case EFL's link will be the one you want to use. Use the enclosure TTOC has linked to and it should be a straight forward little job.
Don't mean to offend but make sure the power is turned off AT SOURCE and not just at the switch. It's surprising how many people think that by turning the switch off it is safe to work on. :(
