Be carful as a pressure washer can cut flesh! I found out when cleaning the patio in flip flops!

Also, make sure all your patio is sound. A pressure washer will take off flakey concrete / brick without a thought! Also watch the 'grouting' (this may be soil or something though) as it may take this out as well!

No chemicals should be necessary if your pressure washer is up to the task. Don't just think PSI, think PSI X litres per minute of flow. Always point the lance away from you at and at an agle of 30 degrees. Keep the tip of the nozzle a couple of inches away from the surface being cleaned (you can actually remove the top surface of slabs by cleaning too often).

Prevention is always better than cure so keep the patio swept regularly, apply weedkiller 3 times per year (march, May and October) if you have any cracks in thepointing, think about applying a solution of Jeyes fluid through a watering can if moss is a problem.
