Galaxy flex GX remote app

sorry to bug you (and sound dumb) but I'm really struggling to find these triggers and get the system to report on them. I sorted my auto test, at the moment every 6 hours but will enable the Intelligent test to see if that works.

I've gone through the whole communications menu and enabled all the triggers (56.1.2.1.2) but still can't see how to notify when setting/unsetting the alarm. I'd assumed it was 09 - Setting and 10 - REset/Cancel but these are enabled.

Sorry to sound like a dope and any help is most greatly appreciated!

Hi Gizmo/Everyone,

I’m in exactly the same situation as Gizmo with push notifications working for everything except setting & un-setting the alarm.
I’d really like to get this working so that I can see who’s operating my alarm and when.
Does anyone know if the alarm is supposed to send set/un-set trigger events or not ?

I’ve a Galaxy Flex 20 version 3.14

Best regards

Hi, sorry I'm not getting mail notification of new posts. The 'setting' trigger option adds set and unset. Are you testing this with GX app or SelfMon? Are you testing with night/part set or full set?

Hi,

I’m using the GX app and the set/unset alerts aren’t delivered when unsetting or setting under night, part or full.

I have ‘09=SETTING’ enabled the same as all other trigger options enabled and they still don’t come through.

I do get my 24 hour Autotest messages arrive each day so I know that push is working to some extent.

Regards

Sounds odd. It would be easier to help if you were using SelfMon. I don't think Honeywell stop certain event types, but I haven't tried their the app service for a while, so not 100% on that.

There was a bug on the older G2 panels, where Changing the triggers in a certain sequence would result in them not taking effect. The fix for that panel was to disable all triggers, then re-enable them. I haven't heard of that bug in the flex though.

I'm not sure I even have an old v3.14 firmware to test out for you.

Ok thanks,

I’ll try disabling the triggers and enable them one by one starting with just the ‘Setting’ one and see what happens.

I’m keen to upgrade the firmware if that’s an option.

How readily available are the firmware files and do they in-place upgrade or do you have to reconfigure the system from scratch afterwards ?

Cheers

The Flex upgrade is by mini usb lead. The upgrade wipes the settings, so you need to store the previous settings using Honeywell's RSS software and then restore after upgrade.

I found this thread about a year ago and managed to set up push notifications on my Galaxy Dimension panel fine. However last week the notifications abruptly stopped! I have checked all the config and all seems fine, and besides I never changed anything anyway.

What I do remember is that a while ago I got a notification saying that *something* was 90% full. Sorry about being vague but I didn't pay it much attention at the time and I don't remember where I saw this.

Anyone have any clues on this one? Is there something I need to purge and the notifications will start up again?

The event log nearly full error is informational and just means that the oldest events are pushed out when new ones are added.

The Honeywell service has gone down a couple of times recently. Unfortunately, since it's a free service, there's no service level agreement.

Thanks GalaxyGuy. Nothing to do with the event log message then.

Are you saying the service is still down? I would guess the notifications stopped for me about a week ago. What is your recommendation? Do I do nothing and expect it to start working again at some point? Do you recommend setting push notifications up again from scratch?

I'm not sure if it's down at the moment. I don't use it myself. I don't see any grumbles on the Facebook installers forums, so I'm assuming it's running. Try re-registering with the app, or try SelfMon.

Thanks again GalaxyGuy. I tried that and no joy. Then I found another thread on here about the GX Remote Control app being pulled from Google Play Store. I was using my Android phone so instead I installed the Apple app on my Ipad. The push notifications worked fine! I deleted the GX Remote Control app from my phone and sideloaded the apk and set it up again but still no joy. Is this all connected do you think? Have the push notifications just stopped working on the android app? Will a new release appear on Google Play Store soon?

I've no idea when they will get it back. The code in the app was violating Google's terms, so I think they need to redesign... What was your SelfMon account number ? I can take a look at why it wasn't working for you.

I confirm my push notifications have now stopped on all Android devices. IOS push notifications unaffected. The Honeywell receiver IP address (152.194.72.102) replies to PING and the port (10000) is open.

I am speculating that Google is not forwarding the push notifications and it's related to them pulling the app from Google Play Honeywell 'GX Remote Control' app missing from Google Play

Thanks for the confirmation. I really don't know why this is taking so long, as it's much more difficult to publish on the App Store than it is on Google play.

In the meantime, if you do need to convert to SelfMon, you only need to change the account number to that assigned to your SelfMon account, the protocol to Microtech TCP, port to 10022 and the ARC IP to that reported in your SelfMon account 'panel settings' menu.
