You forgot to mention the CTA (common travel area) and that really is not going to go away, coupled with a digital border.
Another alternative of course is that the Republic follow us out, they will eventually anyway so why not make it sooner rather than later, they all know Varadkars overplayed his hand.

Have you ever tried to get Brexers to describe what border they want between the UK and the EU? They can't do it.

The RoI is a member of the EU, and of course the EU will protect its members interests. Like it used to protect ours until we (some of us) decided to throw away our membership.

The UK has been offered several options and refuses to accept any of them. The EU has no responsibility for Brexers being able to agree what they want.

Are you saying that the UK shouldn't be allowed to refuse these so called options.
Is it a case of the EU making the UK an offer they can't refuse ,sort of Mafia style diplomacy.
Boris Johnson says he wants to do a deal but the EU just won't play ball, they are holding out in the hope that remainer traitors in the UK parliament will do their dirty work for them and scupper Brexit.
Varadkar and the rest of the EU gang have said they will not have further negotiations , so how can the UK leave the EU with a deal if the EU refuse to give them one.

The CTA only apllies to UK and Irish citizens, However API (advanced passenger information) will be required nd some form of photo ID ( passport is rdcommended to be certain travel will be allowed).

CTA does not aplly to goods. Following a no deal Brexit there wil, be vehicle and goods checks. Ie there will be a hard border.

The Welsh ports have already had agreement that those checks will have to be the same for ferries goibg to RoI and Northern Island to avoid huge shifts in lorries choosing a different port to leave by.

Brexit has given them an insight into how easy that process is.
