Remain ! Jeremys going to save the day !

Yes a no deal may be achievable politically -so it could happen. You can go and celebrate, cos you think youve won something :ROFLMAO:
And then the UK will have to negotiate with the EU so that £290b of exports can flow there.

And the eu will have to negotiate with the UK so that 340b of exports from the eu can flow here.

Your reply is not relevant

The United Kingdom has never been able to feed itself, at any time.

your suggestion that it could be self-sufficient is ludicrous.

you don't even believe it yourself... Do you?

And the eu will have to...

It won't "have to" do anything.

It can afford to get by without the UK, and is expecting to.

since the Brexers have shown themselves incapable of agreeing what they want, or agreeing to anything else, and since 0.025% of the population have elected a Prime Minister that most of the country don't want, who is set on a no-deal course that most of the country don't want, EU27 is standing by in bemusement waiting to see what happens.

There's no point in them trying to reach agreement with a country that can't agree with itself. They have enough serious work to do without wasting their time on a confused buffoon. You might as well expect a sensible discussion with a drunk.

What deal would you like the EU to offer?

Would you like the UK to be able to continue trade as it is now, with no hold ups in terms of checks, paperwork, border controls.
In other words UK businesses can carry on trading, without any delays and admin costs causing damage.

The EU can offer that, quite easily.

We just have these:
Single market -to allow free movement of goods
Customs union -common tariff, no internal tariff.
Harmonised standards -required to remove border checks -same std for all 28 countries.

So, the EU can offer these -and no damage to the flow of trade, no extra paperwork.

If you dont like that, then why do you want the EU to negotiate -the UK can leave and suffer considerable additional costs.

Perhaps you dont like those pesky EU rules -well the UK can leave and ditch the regulations.
Perhaps you might like to think what other rules you might like-would you like decades of damage to business while new ones are created -or perhaps it might be sensible to keep the current ones.

But I guess you want to leave the single market etc?
It seems to me you want the EU to come up with a free trade deal -which you dont want :):):)

The brexers get really cross if you ask them what they think the benefits are. They don't tell you any, though.

Why might that be?

OK, you don't know what you mean. Fair enough.

I tried googling "What does transam think he means" but it doesn't know either.

Simple really, we produce what we can for ourselves, that which we can’t produce ourselves we trade with whoever we get the best deal from. Not rocket science is it ? And i bet ........we end up with trade deals with the EU, at our terms.

Heres an idea, we could a single deal with a whole continent:

-lets aim to do a deal with frictionless trade
-no border checks
-no rules of origin checks
-lets take the regulations and standardise them across 28 countries, so goods comply everywhere
-lets zero rate the VAT
-wouldnt it be handy if that continent could be reached by artic lorry via 30min train shuttle.

And
-let this huge trade area do preferential trade deals around the world. Say maybe 160 diff countrues
-lets expand those trade deals constantly to Canada, Mexico, Japan etc.

Sounds a pretty good idea huh?
Do you think there is a better deal than zero tariff, 30mins away on a train.
Can you suggest one?

Here’s a quote from Andrew Neil

“A failed German defence minister, a failed Belgian PM, a former finance minister found guilty of negligence in a multi-million Euro scandal and a Spanish politician who’s been a cheerleader for repression in Catalonia. Why is Europe in good hands with people like that?“

Add to that the obscene amount of wages these faceless EU mep’s/quangos are getting plus the money we put in versus what we get back out of it, we’ll be well rid.
