Hey guys

I need to drain my central heating system as I’m re-doing all the pipework in our downstairs cloakroom.

Please can someone confirm which valve here stops water from entering the boiler?

I’m assuming the large black tap on the far left, but would like confirmation.

It’s a Baxi Duo Tec 40.

Thanks

That’s a combi, to drain the radiators, just connect a hose and go. No need to faff around with the boiler until it comes to filling her back up again.

If you are modifying hot water pipework, then I’ll guess you are doing cold water as well and as such, just shut the house stop cock.

Ok just what I needed to know.

Cheers

Which ones repressurise the system?

My last boiler had a filling loop so the taps were obvious.

Thanks

The two blue valves in the yellow circles are your filling loop. Don’t forget the inhibitor ;)
