Hi, hoping someone might be able to confirm my suspicion about the electrode from my gas combi.
There is some blackening on the white sleeve.
The following symptoms apply for either CH or DHW demand.
The "flame on" lights up green but within a few seconds goes off and the "ignition failed" warning lights come on and this is then followed by "Flame cut off" warning lights.
If I turn off the heating or hot water demand the warning lights finish their flashing sequence and the boiler returns to normal ON. If the demand isn't turned off then the boiler continues with "Flame cut off" and then goes to "Lock Out" and has to be reset but the same malfunction persists.
Is it possible to tell from the image if the electrode is in fact faulty. I'm aware there are various reasons for this kind of boiler failure but this might be a part of the problem.
Boiler is Ariston e-combi 38 (GCN 47 116 64)
