Going back to the early early nineties, I would be 16 or 17. I rescued an old barbecue with a flip top lid from the tip. A but of rust, but could be improved. I sanded down to bare metal and went to a local hardware store to buy 2 tins of hammerite (Red and Grey). Raced home to paint my new project and it looked amazing, so the next day I went out to get the said burgers, sausages, charcoal etc and got it going.

The paint caught fire and peeled right off and the food tasted like sh1te.

Gutted...
