Ok what happens , if you do a walk test , 97 enter , should be long constant tone .... now open door it should go intermittent...

Just to prove a point ...can you do the walk test and remove both wires from the entry exit zone while holding in the tamper switch ....what happens ?

Yes but you will have to hold the tamper switch in or close it once the e/e zone is disconnected

So your saying when you do walk test ..97 enter with e/e wire removed ...and the lid closed or the tamper switch pressed in you still get constant tone and no lights showing on the panel ....yes ?

It’s faulty ....bin it or put it on zone 3 and make it e/e option 54....program zone 3 for chime

Ok, I thought as much. Thanks. Will be in touch when I have a new one fitted and let you all know the result.

Thanks for all your help.

More further info. When I disconnect the switch at the door (zone wires only) touch them together and then separate them I get the chime as though the door has been opened. So it must definitely be the switch.
