Hi all,

My new front door 4 years ago came with a Fab & Fix NuMail letter plate.

Thing is, I've been replacing them once a year at least!! They keep corroding, starting at the edges, then spots all over.

I am close to the sea, but I'd honestly not expect such a high failure rate.

The other issue is that the door panel has been routed out for that plate, and a couple of others I have tried don't fit, and I don't fancy adjusting the aluminium clad panel to allow fitment.

Can anyone help with a solution, or validate that these letter plates are just not very good?

This one was fitted in February....

I get the same problem with my cctv cameras pitting from the sea air and I am a mile away.
What abour cleaning off and painting using a special primer for alli you will get the odd finger nail mark but might look better.

Otherwise shop around for something like this in your size.

Thanks guys, so it looks likely I'll need to get my panel removed, and cut to fit a new plate?

Urgh, this could be a pain!

Trojan hardware has a 25 year guarantee I believe
Also Sweet hardware may be worth looking into

One of them might have fittings the size you need
