Ah OK so if you're running conduit along at ceiling height you would normally drop the cable down to the socket and back up, rather than send effectively a single spur down to each socket - the cable runs through each socket?

Because you don't introduce unnecessary connections, and in the case of buried wiring you don't want inaccessible connections.
Wasn't he removing the RCD anyway? as it had one at the house.

But, unless I missed something, the conduit saddles were PVC.
Unrelated to the electrical installation - but why are the restraint straps flapping loose? One next to the socket being fitted, and in the rest of the video others don't appear to be fixed either. Should be fixed to the wall, won't do anything otherwise.
Yeah I did notice that. Hopefully it’s not finished!
