ACL Lifestyle LP241 - Screen Blank and Blowing Fuses

Pressed the Test Button and sockets went off but the lights stayed on
Good. You must have been wrong in your earlier post about lights not working.
So back to the original issue. Test pump as Ian advised earlier
Your immersion heater not heating water in the cylinder has nothing to do with the programmer/ pump / boiler etc.
Its a separate issue ,and probably better dealt with in a new thread.

Thanks

Back to the Pump test

Do I just take the 'Live' out of the Pump as shown,

or do I need to remove from the wiring board near the pump

Thanks

Ian already advised earlier. Turn off power first ,remove line from pump and isolate it. Don't do anything at the wiring box ,put the cover back on it.

Well it has still tripped with the Pump disconnected:(

Is there anything else it could be or test?

If fuse has blown its not the pump. Reconnect it. Anywhere on the circuit ,programmer ,boiler components, wiring, valves there can be a short circuit ,you will probably need an engineer to trace it.

Before calling someone out, is it worth disconnecting, if possible, the Mid Position Valve near the Pump and see if that is the problem

White marks indication Mid Position Valve wires

Smell the mid position valve and see if you can smell an acrid or burnt smell, then power off remove and isolate the orange wire from the mid position valve, turn power back on and see if fuse still blows, if it does you have a wiring or controls fault , if it doesnt fault is within the boiler and you need a RGI

I can say there is no smell or anything from the Mid Position Valve.

I have removed the Orange wire (from the block in the picture) put the power back on, but it still blows the fuse?

Would the actual ACL Lifestyle LP241 Heating Controller cause the fuse to blow if it has had it?

I will add that the Boiler has been switched OFF since the start of the problem when the power tripped yesterday morning

Never seen a LP241 blow fuses, you have ruled the boiler out by removing the orange wire so looks like your mid position valve

The orange wire I removed and isolated is from the Mid Position Valve, which I guess rules out the Mid Position Valve being the problem as once I powered back on the still fuse blew....is that right?

nope the orange wire sends power to the boiler once the motor in the valve has moved into position, if it is still blowing the fuse it is likely the valve motor or water in the electronics

Sorry for sounding a bit thick but as I removed the orange wire, does this mean the Valve had no power to it or is the Live wire to the Valve another colour?

The valve doesnt have a single live wire like a 2 port valve does , it depends on what is called for and what position the valve is already in which wire will power the valve motor

Here is the Valve. Is what you say still apply? Thanks so far for you help
