Hi, my tap is dripping from the spout, when I push the cold tap forward a tiny bit it stops, but not if I push the hot. Does this mean I need a valve for the cold tap? Thankyou, Jeanette

Yes, replace the tap insert and all should be well.....its not a bad idea to have another insert in stock, together with the spout 'O' rings - which you will need in due course.

Thanks John, I'm thinking a new tap would be cheaper than buying all those for a pretty old mixer tap

The sum of the parts being more expensive than the whole is what it's all about these days... Cheap "shed type" fittings are just not worth repairing... A whole new tap is the same labour to fit as mucking about repairing the old.
+1 .... we're so used to a 'buy cheap, use up and throw away' culture these days. Whatever happened to 'buy quality, use, repair and re-use'
Your tap is of much higher quality than the cheap ones that last a year or two and as such will last a lot longer with access to spares.
If the tap is in good condition then no reason not to strip it and clean it, replace the parts needed and get at least another 5 years out of it.
