I've got boiler insurance and when it was due it's annual service i noticed the hot tank was leaking water via the black platic pipe with the hole in the middle. Luckily the service engineer was a friend of a friend kinda thing and turns out the diaphram was torn and wouldn't hold pressure. He could only drain it connect it back up and said it isn't part of the contract so the company would charge to replace it, so he would keep that part quiet.
When he temp. sorted it he said i may get a few days, weeks or months out of it but it had to be done sooner rather than later.
i asked cheekily if he could do a homer and he said no as he hadn't long started with them and didn't want to rock the boat.
Money was tight for a while but now that i've got some spare i can get this done. He said to save a bit of money i could order it myself and get the correct qualified plumber in to fit it.
Now took the sticker off and gave it to me for the details but i've only went and lost it, he is away for most of September on extreme holidaying or something so is off the grid.
Could you guys point me in the right direction please ebay, amazon, plumbers merchant.
it's white and 18 litre (only thing i remember) tank is range tribune

Thank you.

DOH try googling range Tribune 18L expansion vessel
Managed to get a PDF of the full system and it had a website for spare parts but it only had 19 ltr and not 18 ltr

Done some more searching and found this from Amazon
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Range-Spar...nsion+vessel&qid=1567711778&s=gateway&sr=8-18

And from searching this forum i'm thinking (hoping) the Amazon one is correct as I wouldn't have to get new brackets.
Also what price range are we talking about to fit this. I know it'a area dependent but a rough estimate would be appreciated.
thanks

let your installer supply and fit, you only think that you will save money by supplying the vessel, if they only fit and anything goes wrong it is up to you to pay for everything, if they supply it its up to them

So what is the average going rate for supply and fit vs just fitting, what kind (if any) mark up do they do?
Cheers

You may find your installer can source the item for less. Either way, as has already been said, if there's a problem later, it's usually a false economy to try and save a few quid by sourcing the item yourself. You need to weigh up the saving against that potential risk.

So what is the average going rate for supply and install please?

There isn't one.
Every job is unique and will be charged accordingly.
Your geographical location, how the system is set up and access to the parts of the system that need working on, all play a part in the cost of any repairs.
To give you "some" idea, if you were round the corner from me, I'd be allowing a couple of hours to get part and attend to fit. It it proved to be a sod to drain down and access the part to be fitted, I'd be looking to extend that time frame accordingly, and my hourly rate is going to be different from others around the UK.

So what is the average going rate for supply and install please?
doubt there is a national average,a lot depends on location.

As an example within the M25 but not the central London congestion charge zone. £45 vessel & £95 for a straight exchange.plus vat.
There may be other cylinder component associated faults and the cylinder could be due a service,If faults & service are required estimate around £220 + vat.

Some manufactures ie Kingspan do monthly pay service contracts, maybe have a chat with them
