I know asbestos wasn't officially banned until year 1999. However, how likely would a house built in 1995 contain asbestos, is it likely or was the dangers realised by then and stopped using it, or has anyone come across it on houses built in this period?

It's possible but usually it would be in the 'usual' places - AIB or cement boards.

If in doubt leave alone or test

I think it was built by leech homes or persimmon
which one :?: don't know Leech but I know Persimmon. Why do you ask , which parts do you think might contain asbestos. Could be asbestos cement board as undecloak to roof verges .

I feel sure it was built by leech homes and was bought out by persimmon. Maybe you are right about the cement verge undercloak. I did contact a asbestos surveyor about it and said it would be unlikely but I still think I might be worth a test?

If you aren't cutting it up or drilling it, it won't be an issure either way.

If it wasn't banned until 1999 it is quite possible it was still used as asbestos cement board in 1995 ,POSSIBLY as undercloak to pitched roof verges.
