Hi All,

I cant work out how to remove the collar securing the cartridge, from the tap. From all the videos on line, it's different!

I've searched through postings but to no avail.

I've tried unscrewing with an adjustable wrench (like http://sendfile.globeunion.com:8080/257_004.jpg), but I'm chewing up the thread, even after applying wd40/gt85.

Do I need a specific tool? I cant find any, the only thing that looks close seems to be https://www.thecumberlandriver.com/2017/04/moen-faucet-handle-removal/.

Its 48mm across.

Thanks!!

Thank you! Shall order one.!

Would it suggest it's not a standard ceramic cartridge valve?

Cheers,

No cartridge is standard. You will (if you can remove the collar) need to know the sizes relevant or obtain one from manufacturer. Failing that, new tap time I believe.

Regards removing the collar, you could try a footprint wrench with a cloth wrapped around it, or boa constrictor type wrench.

Thanks all, i misquoted by saying a standard cartridge. I've seem varying sizes and designs, but it looks as though my cart is part of the collar too.

Didn't think of tapping with a screw driver/hammer for fear of jamming the thread somehow, but will keep it in mind!

I used a strap wrench to remove the top off the collar, thought the thread would rip the rubber... Will give it a try...!!

Hook spanner did the trick, just! Whole tap was twisting around...

Seems to be completely different to all others, and 47mm diameter.

Managed to track a replacement, ordered and waiting delivery.

Thanks all!

Good stuff, glad you got it.

There are a few 47mm cartridges like that replaced one like that not so long ago a Pegler dual I think, wasn't cheap.

Don't forget to take the blue seal out from the bottom of the tap body and clean the surface well, that should come as part of the cartridge.

I've found two places selling a 'Galatron 47mm Dual Ceramic Disk Cartridge' at ~£40!! Ouch!

Plumped for a supplier selling one at £18, far more reasonable!

Will do Rob,thanks o_O
