Don't forget to clip white horizontal waste to the joist - or it'll sag over time ;)

I used the Mcalpine fitting for the old soil pipe. The bottom part of this pushed into the old soil pipe

The horizontal pipe is clipped but further along the run. Because of the tight space, I couldn’t fit a bracket at the beginning of this run

Unless there is a more compact pipe clip?

Thats ok then, when I saw all that black at the join I thought you may have done it some other way.
With regard support for the horizontal pipe if theres too much unsuported length you could always screw a block to the wall under it to stop it sagging when it gets hot

One further question on this please guys and happy to start a new thread if that's easiest.
How do I go from 110 plastic to this - being used as the vent pipe:

It looks like drain downpipe to me.

No "off the shelf "clips - but that's fine . Job's a good un.(y)

Make your own pipe support using a length of twin and earth cable, screwed into the side of the joists to make a loop/cradle/sling around the pipe (y)

and...how high u should I go before converting to the smaller pipe? I was thinking of water splashing up the pipe, etc. This is in my gift at the moment.

Can change into the smaller pipe soon as you like above the WC branch, it is effectively 'dry' above that point, only ventilating the system.

Out of interest, that old soil pipe looks horribly like asbestos cement where you've cut into it, certainly doesnt look like steel!

I thought it looked like steel through and through but I could be wrong. The side cut on this pic is quite revealing.

It also felt the same cutting all the way through
