Hi!

I have had a little patch, about the size of a large coin on my exterior kitchen wall, then keeps pushing outwards/cracking/splitting. If I repair it with filler, it’s fine for about a month, then gradually happens again.

Any ideas? Photos attached.

Matthew32, good evening.

May be a rusting nail or screw?

Suggest get a hold of a good magnet, run it over the damaged area and see if there is any magnetic attraction?

Ken.

Hi,

Thanks for replying. I chopped all of it out, the last time I repaired it, it goes to the brick after about 5-7mm. Doesn’t seem to be anything there that should be. It repairs fine, but reappears over time.

5 to 7mm of plaster over brick work? Not something I have ever seen before.

I admit that I assumed that it was a loose plasterboard screw that kept blowing the plaster/filler.
