Bosch Washing Machine not pumping water out.

I have a Bosch washing machine, Model WFO2866GB/01, about 12 years old. The problem I'm having is that the spin cycle wont work when there is water in the machine. It will spin if I drain the machine and when there is no water in it. I've checked and cleaned all the hoses and I'm certain there is no blockage. Thinking the issue must be the pump, I've replaced it, with the same result - will spin with no water, not if water is in the machine.

Additionally, of late, there has been a short delay (of up to a minute) between pressing the spin cycle button and the machine actually beginning to spin (when there is no water in it).

Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks

When it gets to the point in a wash cycle where the pump should empty the drum ,can you hear the pump running or not ? If its running but not emptying the water ,then you have a blockage.
How do you manually empty the water from the drum ?

Check the motor brushes.

The pump motor will not have brushes!

As above, when the pump is supposed to be running - check that it is running. I guess the op is draining the machine by lowering the drain pipe into a bowl? If so, that suggests it is not a blockage in the drain pipe..

Some tests...
Fill the drum with water, run a pump out cycle or drum will empty when wash starts - does this work?
Does it work OK on a spin only cycle.
My bosch did strange things when the heater element played up and it couldn't get to the desired temp - Does it get hot on a 60+ degrees wash?

Thanks for all comments. The machine will fill up with water when I put it on a wash cycle but wont spin with water in it. I drain the water using the small drain tube at the bottom right of the machine. It does spin when empty of water.

I'm not sure I can hear the pump, either the original one or the new one I put in, so maybe an electrical fault but I don't know how to locate that.

The motor will be outside the pipe, with the impeller inside. The motors are fairly quiet, but you can usually hear the water flowing, The motor will have a tiny cooling fan, which will make it fairly obvious whether it is running. The motor will be a 240v main motor, usually switched by a relay, or Triac on the control PCB.

The PCB's are usually mounted close to the bottom of the machine, protected by some sort of plastic cover to shed water. You should be able to trace the wires by there colours, back to the PCB and inspect the PCB for potential damage, but unplug it at the wall, before touching it.

Thanks, I'll have a look at that tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

When the machine is empty of water put it on the drain cycle take the filter out and see if the pump impellor is turning . Selecting spin only on a Bosch does give a one minute approx. pause before the drum starts turning. The PCB is behind the fascia.

I meant. the main motor.

Do the test as mentioned above - Turn off the water, remove cover for pump and run the machine on a drain/start a cycle. The pump should run...

Does sounds like an electrical fault not allowing the pump to come on as you have already fitted a new one.
Do you have a multimeter? Check the wiring to the pump again for damage/breakages and corrosion on the connector.
Find the control pcb and make sure the connections are all in/tight. Tap the relays on the PCB in case they are "stuck"...

You may be able bench test the pump out of the machine with mains voltage (depending on pump type)

I'm not familiar with the Bosch machine, but if it has a water-level sensor of the diaphragm type, check that the tube to the sensor isn't gunged up.

Pump may arm may be obstructed, easy to miss small items , once checked mine three time before I found a needle jamming pump.
