Replace Danfoss oilpump with Suntec

Hi all.

Does anyone know the best way to select the right Suntec pump in order to replace a Danfoss BFP 41 L3 No. 071N1206 please?

It's on a Worcester Danesmoor 12/14

Well it will function for starters lol

The Danfoss one is kaput and I've read the Suntec ones are better or more reliable so opportunity is there to swap.

You know best obviously. If you had any common sense you would put on the manufactures specified components and have several years trouble free operation. Unless your oil supply is contaminated or needs a tiger loop. Consult an oftec engineer and stop dreaming
 
Danfoss are a supierior pump to suntec personally I wouldn't use a suntec danfoss are very good pumps it could be you need exocet in your oil.Bob
 
I can' think which Suntec would replace a Danfoss BFP 41 L3, as this has an offset solenoid. At a pinch you can replace with a BFP21 L£, but you have to re-form the nozzle pipe. The Suntec pump is physically bigger, and on a B9 burner, which is what you have, you will have a bad time with the nozzle pipe.
I personally don't think there is any reliability issue with Danfoss, especially now they have uprated the coil.

I went with the Danfoss in the end.

Only two things left to do are try the exocet in the oil Bob mentions - Is this easy to do?

Lastly check and if necessary set the pressure with a gauge.
 
Exocet is an oil additive which is claimed to promote cleaner burning and protection to the pump / tank and whatever.....by all means use it! I don't use it personally as I regularly service my burner but I have used it with success on the old Nu Way ZL2 series that weren't too efficient and had no purge facility (Thats dating me :eek:)
If I can give you a tip on the new pump installation - don't overtighten the allen screws that hold the pump in place, I've found the thing to be happier if allowed to float a fraction.
