I recall an episode of £100,000 house where some shuttering ply was used in a kitchen in conjunctionwith a 'fire-retardant treatment'. Does anyone know what that treatment might have been - I'm guessing some kind of sprayed-on thermoguard product?

I see Envirograf do a Fire retardant coating for timber - that sounds like it might be the right kind of thing.

I'll second Envirograf. We've used their stuff to coat doors on a number of listed building jobs where replacement/modern fire doors were simply not permitted by the Conservation Officer
