I am going to have a go at cleaning out the throttle sensor on my yeti.

I have checked some forums and it sounds pretty easy to do.

If this solves my issues with the code faults it will save a lot of money.

The unit will be full of carbon. So my question is, would i need to use carburetor cleaner, or could i just use brake cleaner. I have the latter already.

I think these products are much the same, and contain toluene which is an excellent solvent.
Take the throttle body off the car of course.....not everyone does!
John :)

You shouldn’t have too much bother with that one, but Ive only done PD engines rather than the common rail.
Sorry I cant help with the EGR though, Ive yet to have the pleasure.....I have a 65 plate Yeti 4x4 2.0 cr and it looks a real swine to get to

It may have a limited effect Trevor but with the EGR’s I’ve done the carbon has been baked on and no solvent would shift it.
Unfortunately some egr’s have curved ducts which makes cleaning them even more of an issue.....particularly liquid cooled ones.
I hate the bloody things but have to admit they are damn good at doing what they are supposed to!
One of the reasons why diesels are now lower than petrols in the reliability stakes.
John :)
