Which of these (many) things might have asbestos?

Hi y'all

We are going to look to take the samples ourselves and send them off for testing. Any recommendations on good cost effective companies for the testing? I guess they don't have to be local if we're going to be sending by post....

Cheers

UPDATE: Just got off the phone to polycell. They said that NONE of their products from that era (95/96) contained asbestos. In fact, nothing post 60s/70s.

Hi DIYNotian.

Sorry to raise this thread but how did you get on with the test results?

Hi there

So sorry for the late reply, I've not logged in for a while and so only just seen it.

Two of the items contained asbestos - the bathroom ceiling (but none of the others), and the floor tiles.

We used a company called Envirochem and they were absolutely fantastic in every way. Can't recommend them highly enough. And they were cheapest too. Now, it's not often in life that you can say that :)

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks for that update - glad that there is minimal asbestos in your gaff.

I also recently had some vermiculite tested and that also came back negative - it does seem that it was mostly Canadian and American homes that ended up with the tainted stuff.
