Soil pipe 110mm push fit / solvent weld

Afternoon

Putting in a downstairs loo at home.

Q: Will 110mm soil pipe take push fit fittings and solvent weld fittings? or are like 40mm and 32mm pipe is the actual pipe itself a different diameter/construction?

110mm is interchangeable unlike the smaller diameters

Great thanks - So if I put a 110mm solvent weld knuckle joint on a 110mm pipe (that was advertised in screwF as push fit) it will weld ?

I thought you were asking about the size. If it is Floplast at screwfix it will weld ok, push fit just means it comes with a push fit socket.

As said, all 110mm pipe is uPVC, so will happily solvent weld. Push fit or 'Ring Seal' has always seemed more popular, (possibly because its cheaper, and easier to install), but I've always had a preference for the Terrain solvent welded stuff, thinks it look neater.

Regarding waste, 50, 40 and 32mm, all solvent weld pipe and fittings are ABS plastic, and are interchangeable between manufacturers, (as is 110mm). It's Push Fit waste and rainwater goods that can vary for some obscure reason, only known to the manufacturers.....

Not doubting you but are you sure that it's solvent weld ? - as far as I'm aware, Screwfix don't sell solvent weld soil pipe fittings (M/F fittings possibly?)

Screwfix do sell solvent weld 110mm fittings some are weld one end and push fit the other

Also because it allows for expansion/building movement I believe.
But I also prefer solvent weld... Especially when on show.

Terrain offer an adaptor to covert a solvent socket into a ring seal to create as expansion joint where required.

Local Guy, used to have several Lads working for him, always used the Terrain stuff. Had a nose through his stores once, was an Aladdin's Cave for a young wannabe Plumber! He sadly couldn't take me on as an Apprentice at the time, luckily I found someone else who could.

Funnily enough, last job I was on had that in situ... Took me a while to work out what it was (while I was planning new runs) and when I realised, I thought it was a good product
