Hi all.... for the last 4 or 5 days my Fiesta hazard warning lights have randomly started flashing when the car is parked up. When I click the fob to unlock it then lock it the lights stop but start again maybe half an hour later. The lights don't flash if I leave my car unlocked. The car doesn't have an alarm but once when the lights started flashing the horn started honking in sync with the lights.
any thought please

Im pretty sure that its only the most basic Fiesta has no alarm, Mick.....if yours has a remote door key then it will have.
Check the bonnet lock area for dirt etc - this is where they often fail.
John :)

Thanks John now I come to think the bonnet open light came on at about the same time the fault started. I've had it open and cleaned the catch up will let you know

Good on yer, Mick!
Bonnet catches are adjustable to pull the lid down tighter if needed but you dont want to stress the bonnet pull lever.....made of the finest quality plastic, as ever.

Hi John I'm afraid the problem has started again. I have found out that when I press the hazard warning light on the dash a warning comes up that the bonnet is open and when I press the switch again the warning goes off. The problem must be on the bonnet catch as you say. Is there a way to disconnect the alarm for the bonnet catch. There's np problem when the car is in the drive or garage I just don't lock it

As far as I know, the bonnet lock also contains a micro switch that needs to be fully tripped when the bonnet is closed - I do remember a multi block connector in the area that fills up with crud!
I have heard of people replacing the entire catch to sort this, but hopefully a clean up will suffice.
John :)
