Mysterious beep..

This may be a bit of a long story, bear with me...!

So about three weeks ago we started to hear a beep in the house, three beeps, with quite long pauses between, which then happened quite regularly, like every 15 mins (but *not * exactly the same time apart).

We went on holiday, have some back for 2 weeks, and now the beep has returned!!

What on earth would beep for that long before (like 10 days!), stop for three weeks, then start again?!

Doesn't appear to be the alarm or fire alarms. Also can't seem to detect if it's louder in one room or another..

Oh and the neighbour can hear it too..

So yeah, we're going to each others houses to see if it's louder in one gaff than another, but other than that we're out of ideas!

Anyone got any other leftfield ideas to identify it, or what it could be?!

Smoke alarm, co2 alarm, freezer, cooker timer,that old phone left in a drawer.
As we don't know what you got in the house we can only guess.

Could even be next door.

Checked all them... I think!

I guess for me the puzzle is something which does it for ages, 10 days, stops for ages, like 3 weeks or whatever, then starts up again!!

You think if it's something batteries it would just beep then die... This is like some kind of phoenix device!!

I contemplated trying to record it with my laptop in each room to see where it is loudest, but haven't got a mic so not sure that would work!

Lol, I'll be sure to tell you lot. Strangely, it's not beeped all day that I can tell (sometimes tricky with a toddler around). Oh and the neighbour is coming round to listen (to nothing!) to see if it's louder here or in her gaf.

Right so it's amounted to nothing right now. Yawn, no beeping at all today, no neighbour coming round. Wonder if it'll beep up again in another month or something

Better stop procrastinating and get on figuring how I'm gonna fix up my kitchen wall!

My first thought was a smoke alarm, but I'd be very surprised if that could be heard in a neighbouring house. Are you semi-detatched?

Do you have a burglar alarm that could be on the blink maybe?

Was there anything common in what you were doing each time you heard the beep, if that makes sense?

Not a peep (pun fully intended!) since I last posted on the thread, so, either we're all good, or it'll start again at some random time like 2weeks time. I bloody hope not though.

Oh and we're mid terrace, so yeah can hear some stuff in neighbouring houses, but 30s houses, so not like new build style :0

Had that around here last summer. It's really built up where I live with old buildings and a beep would go off for half a day or so at a time. I tried tracking it down a couple of times but never did find it. Nobody else could and it sounded like a smoke alarm, but just a lot louder.
