Fitted a new lamp, and it failed to work, this is not first time to have problems, so the switch will auto switch off if the bulb becomes disconnected, so can't simply test with meter.

So for second time I had to swap switch for a standard switch, and checked all connections no fault found, and light worked, put the electronic switch back, and still worked.

This is the second time I have had problems, and had to remove and refit switch, to test and no fault found, so question is has any one else had problems with either switch or ceiling rose?

I've got quite a few of those Maestro 'roses' in my house, and I have very occasionally had problems with them making 'bad connections' (when one 'clicks' them into place).

Do I take it that you tried sliding out, then sliding back (and 'clicking') the removable part of the 'rose' before you removed and replaced the switch?

Kind Regards, John

I think most likely the Maestro ceiling rose, I have looked at what lifts the unit high enough for the contacts to push on the spring loaded plungers, and it seems if the shell and base done mate solid together it could cause a problem. So any plaster around edge of base plate could cause the problem.

I would however have expected the original lamp when replaced to have come back on, I used a spare Maestro ceiling rose so original had not been touched.

The first time it failed to switch on again after standard switch was used it would switch on as being plugged in, but off when fully home, I checked all and thought I had cured this problem.

With the electronic switch it is hard to check what is going on. And it could be that switching on/off is upsetting the switch, and turning the breaker off was resetting it.
