Sorry for the awful picture quality, it's hard to get a clear photo from ground level.

Basically for the last few months I have noticed there are 2 "things" on my roof (highlighted in picture), I initially assumed it was something a bird had dropped there but since they haven't moved in months I'm now guessing this isn't the case. I know it'll probably be impossible to tell what these things are from the photo but thought I'd check just in case anybody recognises what these are?

Also, more generally, what type of roof is this? I expect they have a limited life (I believe current roof is about 40 yrs old) but what actually happens when they reach the end of their life? Do they need fully replaced or generally speaking can they be repaired in an ongoing process to stretch the life out?

Thanks

By that definition they need to be replaced don't they :!:

Fair enough, I suppose I left myself open to that. What I was trying to ask is what actually happens when a roof is reaching the end of its life, is it a case that for some specific reason the whole roof just becomes "done" and needs replacing or is it normally something else where its more gradual that problems start occurring at this point.

has your neighbour had his replaced or has he had the cowboys around to jet wash and paint?

Hi, struggling to get a clear picture, this is about as good as I can get from ground level. Any ideas what these things are?

Difficult to say from te blurred pictures.
The tiles are concrete interlocking tiles possibly an Anglia. These do not usually fall apart. It could be debris from another source... Wen was the neighbours wok done?

Hi, neighbours work was done approx 2 years ago, I reckon I 1st noticed this debris around 6 months ago maybe.
