Worcester Danesmoor 12/14 - Lockout

Good point but I would expect there to be a fair old pong of kerosene hanging around.....that hasn't been mentioned or even an oil trace on the boiler bottom plate.
I frequently find turning the pressure adjustment screw on these BFP pumps causes a leak which is a right PITA.

Hi Gents, thanks for all your replies previously on this.

I replaced the oil pump today and the positives are it now runs without locking out, outside there is no smoke from the vent and sounds much smoother in running.

The negatives are that we now have a small drip leak of oil from behind the oil pump (not from it), the boiler and pump seem to be running a little warm and the water is not heating to as hot as it did although it is heating it to a level.

Now it's not locking out anymore I am going to isolate the oil supply and get the man out for service but any ideas on what's occurring?
I haven't set he pressure yet as was just going to let the geezer do this but could it just be that which will correct it now. Thx

These pumps plug into the back of the motor, with a plastic coupling between.....for sure there is an oil seal on the drive side of the pump but if the pump is new then it should be fine.
Theres no other possibility in this area so are you certain that the pump outlet to nozzle pipe is sound?

Basically, check the connections that you made when replacing the old pump with new......
The inlet braided pipe is the first - thats at low pressure from your tank
The outlet port - the thin diameter pipe that takes 100 psi fuel to the nozzle.
If there’s still a drip of kero, its off with the pump again to check the oil seal - unusual in a new pump, but pretty common on a very old one.
