Larder recessed into stud wall

I have just ripped out the old plaster/plasterboard from the side wall in my kitchen, which has the bathroom behind it, and have just discovered that an old door used to be there.

I would like to put a larder unit in the right half of the old door frame.

Question is, am I allowed to have the larder unit recessed into the wall, so that the back of it is touching the plasterboard for the other side of the wall, or would this breach building regs?

I would of course plasterboard all around the larder and would have to remove half of the middle noggin.

Without seeing a plan, this seems impossible to answer - except that if the works aren't notifiable, then you're good to go.

It’s more about whether recessing a unit into a stud wall is allowed, or whether the plasterboard has to be continuous on both sides for fire safety reasons.

You might be able to hear bathroom noises rather clearly in the kitchen...re fire issues, what means of escape do you have from the bathroom? If its ground floor and there's a person sized window then no worries, if only bathroom exit is via the kitchen then you better hope fireman sam is on the case
