Actually my boiler looks as good as the day it was commissioned.
But doesn't work like it did that day!
And what do you think it looks like on the inside?

You missed...So far the boilers I seem to be reading as ok to good :
Worcester - ok ish
Viessmann - good
Valliant - good
do I have that right?
I am also considering putting two boilers side by side to ensure I have a backup should one fail.

As yes, I will look these up.You missed...
Intergas - best

I did. Why do you think I would want to suggest or recommend inferior makes? You also missed the majority of boiler manufacturers included in this LIST
As I have it open quite regularly (three times a year ish) it's in surprisingly good condition.
A friend, a GS engineer, visited recently and I asked him to take a look at the inside, and he commented on how clean and tidy it was. However, he did say .. "you don't know what you don't know, and there could be all manner of ****e lurking in there".
If you want me to put pics up I can .. but I'm not looking to pick fights, and BTW I am an engineer of 35 years myself, just not on boilers, which is why I came here for your expertise .. so I do have a smidgen of common sense around things that move and go bang in the night.
As I say thanks for the entertainment on this thread. I think I know where I stand now.
