Hi,

I recently moved into a property with a Greenstar 24i Junior MK IV Combi Boiler and I have a few queries about this, if anyone can help that would be great! the boiler form the previous owner shows its about 8 years old.

I noticed the boiler turns on and off in a short space of time (about every 10 minutes or so) even though the temperature of the room is greater that what I programmed into the wireless thermostat. Is this normal?

I set the program timer on the old fashioned wireless thermostat to be the lowest i could set it to test if the boiler keeps firing on and off. So I set this to 5 degrees (I can't set this lower than 5 degrees). I found that the boiler keeps firing up and the radiators are slightly warm.

Also I set the boiler thermostat (on the boiler itself) to be the lowest (cool setting). The boiler seems to ignore this too. As the boiler came on a few times during the day and the radiators were warm.

Apologies for the vague information, I have no idea why this boiler keeps the radiators on even though both the wireless thermostat and the boilers radiator thermostat is set to the lowest it can be. I could understand if the room temperature was really low.

Seems like it could be a pcb fault. Best getting a second opinion in the form of a gas safe engineer though.

post a pic of the programmer and receiver please showing display and indicator lights

Ok I'll take a picture when I get home and upload it here.

Hi. I have taken a pic of the RT500RF thermostat attached. I have all the 7 days set to 5degrees. Also you can see the room temperature is high enough not to turn on the boiler. Also yesterday I enabled the eco button and still the heating comes on. So at the time of me taking the 2 images the radiators are warm. I think something is wrong with the boiler?

On a separate issue, there's no pressure in your boiler either - best putting some water in

Yeah that's another weird thing about the boiler, when I turn the boiler on manfully by setting the temperature manually the pressure goes up to 1.25ish bar.

Sounds like you have more than one issue then. I strongly recommend you obtain a gas safe registered engineer to come in and service the boiler and highlight the faults.
