Im going to order a Texecom premier next week. Can anyone advise on what PIR to use. Are the basic texecoms pir's good enough or is it worth paying more for better models. I dont need any pet sensitive models. Are the pricer model less likely to cause false alarms?

PIR's should be fit for purpose, you not saying what the PIR needs to do or where its to be placed, if its hard wired or wireless
Hardwired inside the kitchen. What is the dual tech please? Years ago I remember a sensor my parents had in their house. It had 3 lights on the front. Movement, heat and not sure what the 3rd was. The alarm would only trip if all three lit up. Is there something similar now that will avoid false alarms from spiders crawling over the front?

Dual Techs will help limit false alarms, but correct installation and maintenance should keep even a basic detector from having major issues.
The higher the likely hood of a false alarm the more likely you would chose a DT over a QD over TD.
I always start with a QD and out buildings that look like a well kept living I would use a QD, otherwise its DT is garages and conservatories and large sheds.
