Good morning

I have a drain gully that use to be outside of my house for rain waste. Previous owners had an extension built so now this gully is in the utility room. Lucky the gully is attached to the main sewer. My problem is i want to swap around the bathroom and utility room. Can i use this gully for my shower waste and if so. does it need to be sealed or can it be open. It looks to be a P trap gully as there is water in it. When i put water in it the water never rises just goes down the sewer.
Any info would be very grateful

It depends on whether you have a combined sewage system for foul & surface water or separate drains for each one. You need to find out what happens in your area.

Thank you for your quick reply. The gully i have in my utility room is attached to the foul and if im not mistaken which i could be. The shower waste should also go to the foul waste as well. Im just not sure if i can fit my shower above this gully and if i can does it need to be sealed or unsealed with it being a p trap system
