What's the best way to block this connection? The upstream pipe is not used and is damaged.

I thought I might be able to find a "blank" strap boss but I can't.

Glued into the boss is a piece marked Osmo 2S402 which looks like it converts from solvent to push fit. Can I just pull out the pipe and replace with one of these stops?

Thanks

Thanks. Any idea why the original fitter might have gone from a solvent boss, to a push fit fitting, then straight back into solvent again? Seems a waste of time/money.

Unless maybe the boss originally had push fit in it, which was later replaced with solvent?

But then solvent is a bigger diameter than push fit so I guess the fitting is designed for solvent or it wouldn't fit? Confused.

I guess it doesn't matter, I can just silicone on the fitting if I have to!

Bosses I've used are usually a bigger size and you can insert it with one of three rubber inserts depending if you want to insert 50,40 or 32mm solvent weld. I've not really used push fit for anything under 110mm soil but i guess it's good if you want to adjust the pipe or take up any expansion/contraction

Yeah, thats what I'm used to. A 50mm boss with rubber grommets for 40mm or 32mm. This is different, it's a 50mm solvent weld boss with a solvent welded convertor to (I think) 50mm push fit then used with solvent weld pipe.

Regardless, the inspection plug went on and sealed well. All sorted.

Usually solvent weld strap on bosses are 56mm, they then take a 50mm solvent weld pipe, (56mm OD), or adapters for 40mm (43mm OD)or 32mm (36mm OD)
