I want to make an attachment for a camping chair.
The attachment is a side table that can be swiveled to the front.
The table can be raised up and down and with a press of a button can be positioned at different angles.

Not sure where to start. I simple want to get a prototype made.

The picture below shows exactly what I want. I added some text to explain.
The contraption is very simple. Just not sure where to get the parts from.
+ I need to bend the pole - guessing I need to go somewhere where they do this under heat?
(You can't see in the picture, but the pole is bent, the part you can't see is under the table.)

I'm hoping there's someone clued up who can point me in the right direction!
Thanks.

Bending mild steel tubing is a lot tougher than it sounds....however, 22mm diameter copper is certainly a possibility. Would this be feasible?
John :)

The chair will be alloy, and the table attachment probably wants to be the same.

If it was me I would get down the scrap yard/raid some skips. I bet you would find a piece of tubing with a right angle already on it! Just cut length to suit.
I'm sure I could find something in my own scrap pile

TV aerial pole?

They have 90 degree bends.

Or fill a tube with dry sand, pack hard and cap both ends before bending.

Also, pipe bending springs

Thanks for the replies.

Two things:

- Where do I get the attachment to stop the pipe going up and down? I see this lock mechanism in loads of other things. Just wondering if this was something I could buy from somewhere?
- A bit more of a long shot... where do I get the button mechanism that allows the table to be twisted and stopped at different angles? Not rocket science, I've seen used in other items before.

I would prefer actually to find somewhere that could make the part for me.
I took a pic of the underside of the table, see below.

This is one I bought from a shop. There are several places to buy the table from online. But I just can't seem to find a factory that already makes the item. (I've been through Alibaba loads and have sent messages to suppliers.)

Wasn't expecting much from my post. :)
Thanks for the heads up for the pipe bending machine being - if all else fails, I can try that if trying to make a prototype myself.

Try googling spring button locks.....similar things adjust tent poles for length and also on telescopic luggage or whatever.
John :)

Thanks for the replies.
It's not actually the push button locks.

The one on the side is similar to a bicycle seat lock - except you it doesn't turn round - you just close or open.

The part for the table lock... not sure where... my mind has gone blank. You push down, the disengages 2 discs, you let go of the button, then the 2 discs are re-engaged and lock into place.

Hope that gives more info?

Why are you trying to make something, that you already own, and is already made by someone else?

I want to make a different adjusted version to sell.
The current version that are sold will not do.

Lots of aluminium crutches thrown away daily, they are considered single use , easy to bend and already have holes and clips to make them height adjustable .?

Needs to be similar width pipe as the chair.
The plan is to attach to the chairs.
So maybe not good - but definitely worth considering for making prototypes.
