Been on holiday and come back to find my alarm, which had not been set going off! The tamper was disconnected a couple of years ago as it became faulty and whilst I was away there were power cuts.

Does not stop by entering the code. Removed the front cover of the secondary panel and the tamper light lit up on the main panel. The secondary panel is now showing two '-' symbols.

Really need some advice please.

given what you have said, its probably time to seriously look at replacing.

Sounds like a back up battery issue, but cant guarantee that's the only issue as it sounds like over the years other things have gone wrong

I have de-camped to my Mum's - any idea how to just turn off the noise until I can get someone to look at it?

down power completely, outside bell may ring for a while but depends on what bell you have wired up as to when it will stop.
