Just had some electrical work done, where the electrician replaced some of the circuit breakers in my consumer unit

However I have just noticed that the alignment of the circuits breakers is crooked, whereas before all of the circuit breakers were perfectly straight?

I am not a sparky so just wanted to simply ask whether this is okay or not?

Probably safe but indicates an obvious lack of care when tightning the screw termial that connects the the MCBs to the Live busbar. Question is did he or she have the same lack of care when doing the rest of the work ?

I query this in my other thread.

'Probably safe' does not fill me with confidence

Shall I ask him to sort this out? As you all of the other MCB's in my consumer unit are perfectly aligned..

And to be honest, I am tired of other trades man coming later down the line, seeing another tradesmans work then asking 'which cowboy did this for you' while laughing

As I am not an electrician and therefore I am not in a position to say whether it is 'safe'. What would be a wise thing to do in this situation?

If the same question is posed to the electrician, I have no doubt that he will say that it is safe and that there is nothing to worry about...

mk sentry mcbs are notorious for tipping over when tightened up onto the busbar, its a bad design and although unsightly, is perfectly safe.

As an aside, mk have decided to cease production of all cu's, mcbs etc from december and will concentrate on faceplates only, so once stocks have expired, you'll only get mcbs from auction sites

Apparently not, once stock is gone thats it, of course you could aways fit siemens mcbs as thats all they are in a different coat!!
