Cladding Asbestos Soffits

Hi all,

House built 1982/3. Had the fascias/soffits etc cladded last year. I assume they were asbestos. Image below. I am currently in a state of utter panic as when I was in the loft today a thought hit me that he'd have had to drill through the old soffits to attach the new ones. Could any dust therefore have made it's way into the loft? Is this now a no go area?? Any advice would be so gratefully appreciated. Thank you so much.

asbestos wouldn't warp like that. I suspect that's ply.
The amount of dust that entered a loft via screwholes would be negligible

As above, if you consider things, when screw fixing you do not drill a screw into fresh air, or into an old [possibly] dodgy existing soffit you place the screw fixings so the new screw goes into a bit of timber outrigger?

If the material did contain "Asbestos" it is termed Cement Bound Asbestos, the Asbestos itself will have been "White" Asbestos, by far and away the most benign of this nasty material, also the actual volume of Asbestos in these boards, was highly variable but certainly a low volume of actual Asbestos was present in that material.

Re: the asbestos wouldn't warp like that...is that the same for AIB soffits as it would be for asbestos cement?

As Tigercubrider above.

Cement bound Asbestos is simply not flexible, think of Corrugated roofing?? same material.

Plywood on the other hand is flexible, indeed very bendable.
